The Innovation Alliance, AUTM, the Licensing Executives Society, the Global Innovation Policy Center and IP Watchdog co-hosted a webinar series on the growing economic impact of patent licensing. The first session included a fireside chat between USPTO Director Andrei Iancu and Don Rosenberg, General Counsel, Qualcomm, and an economists’ discussion of how to improve data methodology and communication around patent licensing. Panelists included: Carsten Fink, Chief Economist, World Intellectual Property Organization; Nicholas Rada, Deputy Chief Economist at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); Jonathan Barnett, Professor, Gould School of Law, University of Southern California; and moderator Brian O’ Shaughnessy, Senior Vice President, Public Policy, Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada), and Partner, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, and Chair of its IP Acquisitions Practice Group.
