Our nation’s small businesses have had a tough go over the past decade. While the economy is turning around, two bills working their way through Congress threaten the livelihood of small businesses that rely on innovation to grow their businesses.
While supporters claim H.R. 9 and S. 1137 were written to reduce frivolous patent lawsuits, the method these bills create to end the lawsuits is to simply make it so expensive and complicated to defend a patent that most small businesses would be helpless to fend off foreign “knock-offs” and others looking to steal their private property.
