Times-Republican Letter: Support a strong patent system, by Mark Torche

As a patent attorney and son of an inventor, I am passionate about providing legal guidance and service to private inventors and small businesses to try to demystify the whole process so they may achieve their goals. I believe our patent system has played a vital role in fostering innovation and propelling our great nation forward and it’s exciting to work with people from all walks of life who have taken the time and effort to create something new. Unfortunately, this system has been under attack, making it harder for private inventors to obtain meaningful patent protection. There is a proposal in Congress that could turn our proven patent system upside down. I wanted to raise awareness of this issue.
