As lawmakers consider legislation to rein in litigation from so-called patent trolls, the Federal Trade Commission’s Maureen Ohlhausen on Monday emphasized the need to move cautiously in addressing the controversial issue.
The U.S. House of Representatives has already passed a sweeping bill that would raise the standards for nonpracticing entities, less charitably known as patent trolls, to bring patent infringement litigation and the Senate is now considering the issue.
