CRIVITZ – Innovation is the cornerstone of our nation’s economic might. From Edison to Tesla to Jobs, American inventors have led the way on just about every technological advancement of the last 200 years. In fact, we value innovation so much that our founders enshrined the words “The Congress shall have power to … promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries …” into our Constitution.
But innovation is facing a direct threat. Mega corporations and foreign entities looking to cash in on the ideas of small businesses and individual inventors are trying to game the legal system to make it nearly impossible for innovations to be protected without a team of high-priced attorneys and loads of cash.
