The Denver Post (YourHub): Patent Bill Makes it More Difficult for Small Inventors to Enforce their Patents, by Kevin Burns

As Mayor of Dillon, CO, I have deep concern that Congress is continuing to consider sweeping anti-innovation legislation in the form of H.R. 9, the Innovation Act and S. 1137, the PATENT Act. If enacted, these bills would significantly weaken patent rights and make it far more difficult for small businesses, entrepreneurs, startups, inventors, and other innovators to protect their ideas from infringement.

Patent protections are particularly important for small businesses, which act as a major driver of innovation and job creation in our country. H.R. 9 and S. 1137 would place an unnecessary burden on individual inventors and legitimate small-business patentees, making it more difficult for them to grow their companies and raise much-needed capital.
