Innovation Alliance Statement on Supreme Court Oil States Decision
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Innovation Alliance Executive Director Brian Pomper today issued the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision on Oil States v. Greene’s Energy:
“The Innovation Alliance applauds the Supreme Court for reaffirming once again that patent rights are property rights. The Oil States decision upholding the constitutionality of the IPR process was not a surprise. The focus on the outcome of this case has been a distraction from the important work of reforming the IPR process to make it more fair for patent holders. We appreciate Director Iancu’s commitment to addressing problems in IPR and look forward to working with him and other stakeholders to get that done.”
