Innovation Alliance Statement on Passage of the Innovation Act by the House Judiciary Committee

Innovation Alliance Executive Director Brian Pomper released the following statement today regarding the House Judiciary Committee Passage of the Innovation Act, H.R. 3309:

“The Innovation Alliance appreciates the improvements that were made to the Innovation Act since its introduction. While we support the goals of the legislation, we join a wide array of other stakeholders who continue to have significant concerns about a number of provisions, including the customer-suit exception, those regarding discovery sequencing, the repeal of ‘could have raised estoppel,’ and others.

“The House markup yesterday was the first step in the legislative process. We look forward to working with other stakeholders and the Congress to improve H.R. 3309. We hope that together we can achieve a consensus product that will successfully target abusive behavior and be a force for progress for the full range of American innovation.”
