Innovation Alliance Statement on Reintroduction of Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Innovation Alliance Executive Director Brian Pomper today issued the following statement on the reintroduction of the Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act (RALIA) by Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY):

“The Innovation Alliance commends Representative Massie for reintroducing the bipartisan Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act. This bill, along with other bills now pending in Congress, reflects the growing understanding among legislators that strong patent protections are vital to incentivizing innovation and driving economic growth and job creation.

“Our patent system has been dangerously weakened in recent years by Supreme Court decisions, administrative actions and congressional changes. As a result, U.S. inventors and investors are increasingly moving innovation overseas, including to China, where patent protections are now stronger.

“We need to strengthen patent rights to restore the U.S. to its position as the global leader in innovation.”
