Innovation Alliance Statement on Reintroduction of Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Innovation Alliance Executive Director Brian Pomper today issued the following statement on the reintroduction of the Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act (RALIA) by Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Marcy Kaptur (D-OH):
“The Innovation Alliance commends Representatives Massie and Kaptur for reintroducing the Restoring America’s Leadership in Innovation Act. This bill, along with other bills now being considered in Congress, including the Promoting and Respecting Economically Vital American Innovation Leadership Act (PREVAIL) and the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act (PERA), reflects the growing understanding among legislators that strong patent protections are vital to incentivizing innovation and driving U.S. economic growth and job creation.
“By restoring strong patent rights, we can give small inventors the tools they need to protect their innovations from theft by Big Tech companies and other large corporations. Securing strong patent protections for American innovators is also needed to ensure the United States can compete with China in the race for leadership in key areas of technology, including AI, quantum computing, 5G and medical technology. We urge Congress to enact legislation to strengthen patent rights as soon as possible.”
